1979 - 1987

Pastor William C. Baker accepted the call in February, 1979. A former teacher turned preacher, his hunger for souls was contagious and we learned to be good stewards and disciples. The Evangelism Explosion method was instituted and an assistant to the Pastor was employed to carry it through. Many people came to know the Lord and Christians were strengthened.

A van and a bus were used to pick up children, young people, and older folks for activities. The Deacon Watch Care program was started to show love and concern for our members. The Awana program was held on Friday nights in the Edgarton School. And, a Youth Pastor was hired to guide the growing youth group. Because of the large Spanish speaking population in the Vineland area, a Spanish outreach was started in 1983. Terry Armstrong was accepted to conduct this work. They held services in the Faith Bible Church on Columbia Avenue, Vineland, later purchasing the building. We continued our support until the bilingual Emmanuel Baptist Church   [ Iglesia Bautista Emmanuel ] became self-supporting in 1994 under Pastor Robert Velazquez. In 2005, Pastor Velazquez served as pulpit supply for a few services; Pastor Velazquez now serves as hospice Chaplin for South Jersey Hospitals.
Pastor Baker resigned in 1985. In Jan. 2005, Pastor Baker was welcomed as new Pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Greenville, OH.
Pastor Tom Moore was called in 1986. He was a very compassionate man with a heart for people, especially children. Each Sunday, during the morning service, he called the children up front for a special message just for them. Pastor Moore resigned in 1987.
