1969 - 1972

By Easter, April, 1969, Robert C. Gage was pastor. Besides preaching and teaching, he led an intensive visitation program, through which many were brought into the church. The daily broadcasting ministry was also continued. Another bus was purchased to replace the worn-out former one and used to bring in many Sunday School pupils. Pastor Gage resigned December, 1970.
In Sept. 2000 Dr. Robert C. Gage, accepted the pastorate of First Baptist Church in NYC. In 2007, he retired as pastor of First Baptist Church in NYC, offers encouragement and help for pastors through the Rivendel Retreat, publications, and other resources.

The Rivendel Retreat in Deposit, NY, is available to pastors and missionaries (75% discount), and Christian workers and writers (50% discount). Arrangements can be made for church boards, Bible study groups, and men's, women's, couples' and youth groups. Dr. Gage
has also written two booklets related to the history of First Baptist Church in New York City-"The Baptism of George Washington" and the testimony of Spencer Cone, a pastor of the church in the 1840s and a chaplain of the U.S. Congress.

Pastor Dick Clark, now with the Lord, helped fill the pulpit, revealing the Scriptures to us in his homey way, until a replacement could be secured.
