1936 - 1941

From the very beginning our Church was founded on the Word of God and pledged never to deviate from fundamental principles. Consequently, when the Northern Baptist Convention took a liberal stand, we had to discontinue fellowship with them on August 31, 1936. We are now an independent Baptist church and only associated with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches and the Garden State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches.

The church has stood firm on the conviction that the King James Version is the best English Version available today. Therefore all of our teaching, preaching, and memorization is done from the KJV. We are not part of the "radical KJV - only" bunch. The KJV was translated by God's chosen servants, and as such, is by no means "inspired" as a translation; the original manuscripts in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek from which the KJV was translated are indeed inspired; God has preserved His Word through the ages in the KJV, the recent modern translations have significant omissions and dilute the Inspired Word of God and Doctrines.

What a joyous occasion the 69th anniversary brought when on May 11, 1941, a thankful people could burn the mortgage on the present church.
